It is known that the above assets belong to Zhang Yujie, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2020 after being convicted of embezzling nearly 70 million yuan (10.8 million USD) from government funds owned by him.

Notably, the value of this card quickly spiraled out of control, with the bidding price increasing by more than 500,000 yuan (equivalent to 77,000 USD) within minutes, much higher than the above price of 31,000 USD.
`This auction has been suspended,` said a notice from Alibaba’s online auction platform.
The auction organizers also suspect that some people intentionally bid at a high price with bad intentions, instead of truly wanting to own the above card.
It is currently unclear whether the court will sue the auction participants or not.
