(Dan Tri) – The flight carrying Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the US has received special attention with a record number of followers on the Flightradar application.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will arrive in New York, USA on April 24 and April 25 to participate in sessions of the United Nations Security Council.
`Mr. Sergey Lavrov has arrived in New York. Tomorrow, a session of the United Nations Security Council will be chaired by him,` Ms. Zakharova wrote on Telegram on April 24.
A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that more than 700,000 out of 3 million people followed Foreign Minister Lavrov’s flight on the Flightradar application.
Russia’s top diplomat is scheduled to meet with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on April 24.
In addition, Mr. Lavrov invited top diplomats from several countries, including US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, to participate in Security Council sessions chaired by Russia.
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, Moscow is ready to consider a meeting with Secretary of State Blinken and never refuses serious dialogue proposals from the US side.
Previously, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov on April 13 called on Washington to immediately issue visas to the Russian delegation and permit a plane to carry the Russian Foreign Minister to New York to attend the United Nations meeting.
Russia took over the role of rotating president of the United Nations Security Council from April 1 in the context of escalating tensions in relations between Moscow and the West due to fighting in Ukraine.
Ukraine accused Russia of violating international law and called for Moscow’s removal from the Security Council.
Since Moscow launched its military operation in Ukraine at the end of February last year, the US has imposed individual sanctions on senior Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Lavrov.
