In April, the Thai pickup truck market recorded a total of 14,067 units sold, of which Toyota Hilux Revo and Isuzu D-Max accounted for the majority of sales.
Specifically, Toyota Hilux Revo has demonstrated its strong appeal in the Thai pickup truck market by achieving an impressive market share of 44%.
Thus, Toyota Hilux Revo surpassed veteran rival Isuzu D-Max when this model only sold 5,047 units and accounted for 35.9% of the market share in the same period.
Toyota Hilux Champ, another version of the Hilux line, also appears in the top three with 1,122 vehicles successfully shipped and accounting for 8% of the market share.
Meanwhile, Ford Ranger ranked fourth with 1,003 vehicles sold and 7.1% market share.
Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, Mazda BT-50 and MG Extender have much more modest sales, 350 cars, 211 cars, 104 cars and 40 cars, respectively.
From the beginning of 2024 until now, the Thai pickup truck market has a total of 60,661 units sold.
Following closely behind is Isuzu D-Max with 23,360 vehicles leaving dealerships, accounting for 38.5% of the market share.
Although not selling as well as leading competitors, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, Mazda BT-50 and MG Extender still maintain a presence in the market with the corresponding numbers of 2,242 vehicles, 956 vehicles, 251 vehicles.
In November 2023, Toyota Hilux Champ was officially launched in Thailand with prices ranging from 459,000 – 577,000 baht (equivalent to 319 – 401 million VND).
Toyota Hilux Champ is based on Toyota IMV 0 Concept, has 2 body configurations: standard and extended.
Inside the cabin, the car is equipped with a clock cluster, reclining driver’s seat that can be adjusted forward and backward, reclining front seats, 60:40 folding bench, electric windows, 12V charging port, power outlet, 2 cup holders
Despite its simple default design, the Toyota Hilux Champ is highly customizable to meet many different uses.
In Thailand, the car has three engine options: 2.0L gasoline engine (137 horsepower, 183 Nm, 5-speed manual transmission), 2.7L gasoline engine (164 horsepower, 245 Nm, 6-speed automatic transmission)
