LION Championship 8: Pham Van Nam successfully defended the championship belt 2
The MMA LION Championship 8 event ended with the submission victory of reigning 56kg champion Pham Van Nam over Dinh Van Huong.
The LION Championship 8 mixed martial arts event taking place on August 12 at Tay Ho Stadium, Hanoi ended with 8 A-class pairs and 11 B-class pairs. The highlight of the event was the division title defense match.
Pham Van Nam successfully defended the 56kg LION Championship title
Entering the match, Dinh Van Huong moved widely and used a lot of foot strikes, this was a strategy that helped him limit the opponent’s ability to attack.
In the second round, from a situation of counterattacking with his legs, Van Nam successfully knocked him down and gained control of the mount. However, very quickly, Van Huong was able to escape and counterattack with a series of punches and kicks.
